Endoscopy is a procedure performed by a gastroenterologist using an endoscope, which is a flexible tube with a camera. This procedure is used to see the lining of the upper gastrointestinal tract. It is also called as Upper Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (Upper GI Endoscopy), esophagogastroduodenoscopy, or EGD.
